Lower Meadow care home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, marked St Patrick’s Day on 17 March 2026 with a vibrant celebration, bringing together residents, staff, and families to honour Irish culture and traditions.
The event featured a range of themed activities, including traditional Irish food, music, and even seated Irish dancing, creating an engaging and inclusive experience for everyone involved. Residents and guests also had the opportunity to enjoy Guinness, with some trying it for the very first time.

The celebration formed part of the home’s ongoing commitment to embracing diversity and ensuring all cultures and traditions are acknowledged and enjoyed within the care home environment.
The atmosphere throughout the day was described as “electric,” with laughter shared among residents as they joined in the festivities. A particular highlight included staff dressing in green and encouraging residents to fully immerse themselves in the spirit of the occasion.
