Residents, relatives, and staff at Maun View Care Home part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together on 23rd April 2026 to celebrate St George’s Day with a joyful “Great British Picnic” in the gardens of the home.
The home was decorated with English bunting across the garden patio, while residents and their loved ones embraced the theme by donning gingham attire for the special occasion. Tables were beautifully set for a traditional afternoon tea, where everyone enjoyed tea and coffee alongside classic picnic favourites including mini quiches, scones with jam and cream, cheese and pineapple sticks, sausage rolls, and finger sandwiches.
Nicola, Home Manager at Maun View, said: “It was a lovely afternoon spent in the sunshine with our residents and their loved ones. A bit of sunshine is just what we all needed.”
A relative of a resident also shared their thoughts, saying: “Yet again another lovely afternoon. It was lovely weather and the afternoon tea was great. It was lovely to hear my mum say how much she enjoyed the event, commenting on the lovely sunshine and the lovely scones.”
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was warm, wholesome, and full of joy, with residents delighted to spend quality time outdoors with family, friends, and staff. A standout moment for many was simply being outside together and making the most of the sunshine during the home’s first garden event of the year.
