Residents, families, staff, and members of the local community came together at Tallis House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, on 8 May 2026 to celebrate VE Day with a lively BBQ party.
Organised by Lifestyle Co-ordinators Rachel and Clare, the special event marked the anniversary of Victory in Europe Day with entertainment, singing, and a warm community atmosphere throughout the home.
The celebration saw Tallis House decorated with Union Jack flags, helping to create a special setting for residents and guests to reflect, celebrate, and enjoy the occasion together.

The event was filled with laughter, singing, and dancing, with one of the standout moments being families and staff encouraging residents onto the dance floor to join in the celebrations.
The VE Day BBQ was an important opportunity for Tallis House to honour a significant moment in history while strengthening connections between residents, relatives, staff, and the wider community.
Everyone at Tallis House was delighted to see so many people come together to celebrate the occasion.
