Residents, relatives, and staff at Maun View Care Home part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a morning of culture, music, and learning during a special “Window To The World” themed coffee morning held on 12 May 2026.
The event formed part of Runwood Homes Group’s Dignity Theme for May, “Window To The World,” which encourages residents to explore different countries, cultures, and experiences through engaging activities.
During the coffee morning, residents listened to music from around the world, discovering different musical styles linked to various countries and cultures. Activities also included European landmark picture bingo, where residents learned about famous landmarks, their history, and where they are located across Europe.
Residents also took part in Australian flower bingo, learning about native plants and flowers found in Australia while comparing them to those grown in England. The morning additionally featured an under-the-sea themed bingo session celebrating the 100th birthday of David Attenborough, with residents learning about marine life and the creatures living within the world’s oceans.
The event was accompanied by coffee, cakes, and plenty of social conversation, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the morning.
Lucy, Lifestyle Coordinator at Maun View Care Home, said:
“It was a lovely morning with our residents and families celebrating our dignity theme for May. We always try to encourage new experiences in our resident activities and learn things we never knew. Residents found it very interesting.”
The home continues to organise activities throughout the month inspired by the “Window To The World” theme, helping residents experience and explore what the world has to offer from the comfort of their home.
