Residents, families and team members at Ivy Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were treated to an afternoon of laughter and entertainment when ventriloquist Emily Brown and friends visited the home for a special live performance on 12th May.
The event was organised after the home’s Lifestyle Coordinator spotted Emily’s act being advertised and recognised it as the perfect opportunity to bring something unique and engaging to residents and their loved ones.
The afternoon was filled with laughter, singing, dancing and plenty of smiles as Emily’s lively performance captivated everyone in attendance. The event brought together residents, families and staff for a shared experience that showcased Ivy Court’s commitment to creating vibrant and joyful moments for its community.
Feedback from families was overwhelmingly positive, with one relative describing the afternoon as “absolutely brilliant” and asking if the act could be booked again. Another daughter said she “laughed so much she cried.”
One of the standout moments of the afternoon came when Home Manager Stacey bravely volunteered to join Emily on stage. Wearing a ventriloquist mask, Stacey became part of the act and had the audience roaring with laughter as Emily hilariously “made” her dance. Her performance was met with enthusiastic applause and calls for an encore from delighted family members.
The event reflects Ivy Court’s dedication to creating entertainment experiences that enrich the lives of residents and demonstrate to families the home’s passion for providing a lively and engaging environment.
