Residents, families and staff at Wisden Court, part of the Runwood Homes group, came together on the 22nd of May for a joyful Indian Cultural Day, celebrating diversity through traditional food, music and dance in a lively and heartwarming community event.
Organised by Lifestyle Coordinator Ally, the afternoon formed part of Cultural Month celebrations and brought together residents, staff and visiting colleagues from sister homes, including a Home Manager and Regional Operations Director, for a shared experience full of colour, culture and connection.
The home was transformed into a vibrant celebration of Indian culture, with traditional dishes lovingly prepared by staff and enjoyed by all, alongside energetic cultural dancing that filled the room with excitement and joy.
The event created a strong sense of togetherness, with residents, families and staff all taking part in the celebrations. Guests were encouraged to immerse themselves in the experience, sharing food, laughter and conversation throughout the afternoon.
Residents were full of praise for the event, with one commenting, “This is the best food I’ve ever tasted,” while others added, “Everybody looks so beautiful,” and “What a lovely day.”
One of the standout moments of the event was the lively dancing, which brought residents and staff together in celebration and created an atmosphere of joy and connection.
The Indian Cultural Day highlighted Wisden Court’s commitment to celebrating diversity and creating meaningful, inclusive experiences that enrich the lives of everyone in the home.
