Residents, families, staff and members of the wider community of The Grange Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together on 21st May for a heartwarming evening of entertainment, connection and charitable giving at a special variety show and dinner event.
Organised through a partnership with a variety entertainment agency, the event brought together people from across the community in a warm and welcoming setting designed to encourage social interaction, enjoyment and inclusion.
Guests enjoyed a lively variety show followed by a community dinner, creating an uplifting atmosphere filled with conversation, laughter and shared experiences. The evening provided valuable opportunities for residents to build meaningful connections beyond the care home environment.
A key focus of the event was raising awareness and funds for homeless veterans. A raffle held during the evening helped generate donations, with The Grange Care Home proudly contributing a donated hamper as part of the fundraising efforts.
Catherine, Lifestyle Coordinator at The Grange, said:
“We had the best time and can’t wait for the next one. Events like this are so important for bringing people together and supporting meaningful causes.”
The atmosphere throughout the evening was described as warm, kind and uplifting, with attendees feeling welcomed, included and valued. Residents especially enjoyed the opportunity to socialise confidently with members of the wider community.
The event highlighted the importance of community engagement at The Grange Care Home, demonstrating how shared experiences can reduce isolation, promote wellbeing and strengthen local connections while supporting important charitable causes.
