Residents of Park View care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, along with relatives, came together for a vibrant celebration of Onam, the beloved harvest festival of Kerala, creating a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Indian culture and traditions.
The event was organised by management as a team-building initiative, bringing everyone together to enjoy an afternoon filled with traditional food, music, dancing and learning. Staff of Park View, embraced the occasion by decorating the home, wearing colourful traditional Indian attire, performing traditional dances and sharing information about the meaning and traditions behind Onam.
The celebration provided Park View residents and their relatives with the opportunity to experience and learn more about the festival while enjoying the atmosphere created by the team.
G.M., a resident at Park View, shared their enjoyment of the occasion, saying: “This was a fantastic celebration with lots of beautiful vibrant traditional Indian attire. I have never seen anything like this before.”
A particular highlight was seeing the team come together to organise and take part in the festivities. From preparing the food and decorations to performing dances and sharing the story of Onam, staff worked together to create a memorable experience for everyone.
