Resident Margaret from Woodbury Court care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, was able to attend her stepson Stuart’s wedding after a member of the care team went above and beyond to support her on the special day.
Margaret had only recently moved into Woodbury Court when Stuart’s wedding to Ellie was due to take place on Saturday 19 September. Knowing how important the occasion was to Margaret and her family, Carer Assistant Amaka volunteered to accompany her to the wedding and provide the support she needed throughout the day.
Thanks to Amaka’s support, Margaret was able to be there to celebrate alongside Stuart, Ellie and the rest of the family, making the occasion a special and memorable experience for everyone involved.
Stuart shared his appreciation for Amaka and the Woodbury Court team, saying: “Amaka was an absolute star looking after Margaret. I don’t think I could have managed to get Margaret to my wedding without all your help. I am so grateful.”
The day gave Margaret the opportunity to be part of an important family milestone and share in the celebrations with her stepson and his new wife.
