Residents from Carolyne House and Bennett Lodge care homes, part of the Runwood Homes group, marked Alzheimer’s Day by showing their appreciation to the Basildon Hospital nurses and care teams who support people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Residents from Carolyne House and Bennett Lodge brought boxes of chocolates to the dementia and Alzheimer’s ward at Basildon Hospital, personally handing them to nurses and staff as a gesture of thanks for the dedication and care they provide.
The initiative gave residents an opportunity to recognise the hard work of healthcare professionals and highlight the importance of Alzheimer’s Day.
The residents particularly enjoyed being able to personally pass the chocolates to the nurses and see their reactions. It provided a meaningful opportunity for residents to say thank you and acknowledge the commitment shown by those supporting people living with dementia.
