Residents and staff at Woodbury Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, celebrated a truly special moment when Linda, the home’s Resident Ambassador, was reunited with her sister Diane after more than five years apart.
With the help of Kristina, the care home’s Wellbeing Lead, Linda was able to track down her sister and arrange an emotional reunion. The pair travelled to Walthamstow where the sisters finally met again, sharing hugs and stories from their childhood.
Linda said:
“I was over the moon to reconnect with my sister. It was a lovely day, and we had so much to talk about! My sister is hoping to come and visit me here soon.”
The touching reunion came about after Linda mentioned to staff that she hadn’t seen or spoken to her siblings in several years. Moved by her story, Kristina stepped in to help her search, leading to an emotional day.
There were happy tears as Linda and Diane talked about their shared memories and made plans to stay in touch.
Home Manager at Woodbury Court, Mel, said:
“It was such a beautiful moment to witness. We’re so proud of Linda and so thankful to our team for making this reunion possible. Moments like these remind us just how important family connections are.”
The day will be remembered by everyone at the home as a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to reconnect with the ones you love.
