Ashwood Residents Enjoy an Uplifting Trip to Feed Baby Lambs

Residents at Ashwood Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently had the opportunity to experience the joys of the countryside with a memorable outing to a local farm. On Thursday 27th March, a group of residents, alongside staff, travelled to the farm, where they spent time feeding baby lambs, an experience that brought smiles and laughter to all involved.

Eileen, one of Ashwood’s residents, shared her excitement after the visit, saying, “It was such an amazing experience, and the lambs were so cute!” She wasn’t alone in her appreciation; many residents expressed how refreshing it was to step outside of the care home environment and enjoy the fresh air and natural surroundings. The trip offered a peaceful escape, with residents noting how lovely it was to reconnect with nature and see animals up close.

The event provided not only a fun and engaging experience but also an opportunity for social interaction and gentle physical activity, which are key components in promoting the well-being of the residents. At Ashwood, such outings are an essential part of enhancing the quality of life for residents, offering them a chance to participate in meaningful activities and create cherished memories. The success of this day trip shows the importance of building connections with the wider community and creating moments of joy outside of everyday routines.
