Frank Foster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, welcomed residents, staff and veterans together for a heartfelt VE Day celebration on 8 May, with wartime songs, reflection and joyful moments shared throughout the home.
Residents enjoyed an uplifting day of music and remembrance as everyone came together to honour VE Day and celebrate the occasion. Wartime songs were performed during the event, creating an emotional and nostalgic atmosphere for many in attendance.
Resident Maureen said: “I enjoyed it.”
Resident Jackie described the day as “very emotional”.
Allison, Lifestyle Team member at Frank Foster House, said: “It was very uplifting, joyful and a happy occasion — we all enjoyed ourselves.”
Special thanks were given to Tracy Lea for her support and involvement in helping make the celebration enjoyable for residents and staff alike. The home also thanked all team members who helped organise and support the event throughout the day.
The VE Day celebration provided residents with an opportunity to come together, reflect and celebrate an important moment in history with music, companionship and shared memories.
