Greenbanks Welcomes Local Church Community for Special Musical Visit

Residents at Greenbanks Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a special visit from members of the Stanborough Seventh-day Adventist Church, who spent time with residents and performed a selection of songs for them.

The church community, including both adults and children, was invited to Greenbanks to share an afternoon of music and fellowship with residents.

The afternoon gave Greenbanks residents an opportunity to enjoy meaningful time with members of the local community and the church.

The music was a particular highlight, with residents enjoying listening to the children and adults sing. Brennie, a resident at Greenbanks, became emotional during the visit and thanked everyone for taking the time to come, saying: “Thank you all for doing this, I love kids so much and it’s lovely to see them sing so beautifully.”

Residents of Greenbanks also had the opportunity to chat one-to-one with members of the church over tea and biscuits. Judith, a resident at Greenbanks was delighted to meet the visitors and happily asked to take photographs with some of the church members, thanking them with kisses on the cheek.

At the end of the afternoon, resident Daphne gave a heartfelt thank-you speech before taking the time to pray for the church, the children and its members.

The visit also left a lasting impression on the church members. One visitor spoke with Lifestyle Coordinator Oyin about the care provided at Greenbanks and praised the work of the home and its staff. He warmly remarked that he could see himself choosing Greenbanks when he was older and needed care, adding with a laugh that staff should not be surprised to see him there in years to come.

The visit was meaningful for residents and visitors alike, combining music, faith and conversation while strengthening Greenbanks’ connection with its local community.
