Handmade Blankets Bring Joy to Stafford Hall Residents

Residents at Stafford Hall care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, were delighted to receive beautifully handcrafted blankets and crocheted gifts from local community group Hug in a Shrug during a heartwarming visit on 2 June 2026.

Each handmade blanket was presented with a special message encouraging residents to wrap themselves in love whenever they needed a hug, making the thoughtful gifts even more meaningful.

Resident Maisy said, “That’s the loveliest blanket I’ve ever been given. Thank you.” Rose added, “I used to knit all the time. These are beautifully made,” before becoming emotional, saying the gift was so lovely it was going to make her cry.

Lifestyle Coordinators Catherine and Antonia said: “The kindness and care that went into making these blankets has truly touched our residents. It reminds everyone how much compassion exists within our community.”

Home Manager Jenna Paine added: “These thoughtful gifts made our residents feel valued, cared for and connected. We are incredibly grateful to Hug in a Shrug for their generosity.”

The visit highlighted the power of community kindness, bringing comfort, smiles and lasting memories to everyone involved.
