Liberty House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently held a memorable Father’s Day celebration on Friday 13th June, transforming part of the home into a special pop-up venue affectionately named “Dads Bar.” This bespoke event was created with love and care by Lifestyle Coordinator Jody, whose creative flair and thoughtful planning ensured a touching and fun-filled afternoon for residents and their families.
“Organising this event for our residents and their sons and daughters was amazing to see,” Jody shared. “They all had a great time and were overwhelmed with happiness.”
The event offered more than just a change of scenery. It brought the joyful spirit of a traditional pub into the home. Residents and their families enjoyed snacks, drinks, classic pub tunes, and personalised gifts. The atmosphere was brimming with laughter, smiles, and heartwarming reunions.
Resident Brian said, “I didn’t expect all this; you have truly done amazing. It’s a lovely surprise. I’ve had a great afternoon with my sons.”
The idea for the event was born from conversations with residents who fondly recalled visiting the pub. Wanting to honour those memories, Jody decided to bring the experience in-house, resulting in the lively and love-filled “Dads Bar.”
The highlight? Simply watching the fathers beam with joy as they shared the afternoon with their children. It was a perfect example of how meaningful moments, no matter how simple, can leave a lasting impression.
