Residents of Longview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently celebrated Maggie’s birthday in grand style, enjoying a day out at Izzi’s Café followed by an unforgettable evening of entertainment at Longview. The events were filled with good food, laughter, music, and cherished moments that highlighted the importance of community and togetherness.
On Wednesday 26th March, eight residents from Longview, accompanied by two staff members and a bus driver, took a trip to town to enjoy a delicious brunch at Izzi’s Café. This outing was particularly special as it coincided with Maggie’s birthday, making the day even more meaningful. Maggie was treated to a slice of cake with a candle, and the whole restaurant sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her. The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of conversation as everyone embraced the occasion.
Later that evening, Longview hosted a spectacular birthday celebration for Maggie. Residents, families, and staff came together for a night of entertainment featuring a live Elvis tribute singer—chosen especially because of Maggie’s love for the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The atmosphere was electric, with residents singing and dancing along to classic tunes. One of the highlights of the evening was the Elvis performer handing out roses to all the women, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the celebration.
Sandra, a resident at Longview, expressed her joy, saying, “I had such a wonderful time at the party. It was so nice seeing my good friend Maggie have a great birthday.”
Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet along with wine, beer, and cupcakes, making the night even more memorable. The idea for the celebration came from Maggie’s husband, who wanted to surprise her with an evening of entertainment surrounded by friends and loved ones.
