Residents, relatives, and staff at Loganberry Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, came together for a vibrant celebration of Romanian Culture Day on 12 June 2026, enjoying a day filled with delicious food, music, dancing, and cultural discovery.
The event was organised to celebrate the heritage of many members of the Loganberry Lodge team while giving residents the opportunity to experience new foods, traditions, and cultures in a fun and engaging way.
The home’s talented kitchen team prepared an impressive feast of traditional Romanian cuisine, offering residents a variety of authentic savoury dishes followed by an array of sweet treats. Romanian music filled the home throughout the afternoon, creating a lively atmosphere as staff shared traditional dances and encouraged residents and colleagues to join in.
The event brought together the kitchen team, management team, lifestyle team, residents, and relatives, creating a wonderful sense of community and togetherness.
Resident Lynn was full of praise for the celebration, saying: “Wow, the food is delicious! It’s so great getting to experience new foods and cultures. The kitchen team has done amazingly!”
Fellow resident Kevin added: “You have all done brilliantly, this is such a fab afternoon.”
Reflecting on the success of the day, Naomi Cranmer, Lifestyle Coordinator at Loganberry Lodge, said: “It’s great getting everyone together, sharing new experiences and cultures. All the residents and staff have had an absolute blast bringing this all together.”
Lifestyle Coordinator Sophie also shared her enthusiasm, commenting: “This is why I love my job, giving the residents opportunities to try new things and have fun!”
The atmosphere throughout the celebration was fun, lively, energetic, and full of excitement, with residents embracing the opportunity to learn about Romanian culture through food, music, and dance.
