A day of fun and delicious food was had by residents and staff from seven sister care homes across Essex, all part of the Runwood Homes group, as they embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Southend-on-Sea. On the 31st of January, the group took their minibuses to the famous ‘Ye Olde Chippy’ for a delightful feast of traditional fish and chips
The seven homes involved in the outing were Elizabeth House, Kathryn Court, Broomhills, Crowstone House, Heron Court, Eastham, and Windle Court. This special trip wasn’t just about enjoying great food but also about showing gratitude to the Zinonos family, who have provided ongoing support for Runwood Homes residents for many years. The family-run fish and chip shop, a beloved local institution, has always welcomed the Essex care homes with open arms, and on this occasion, Runwood Homes residents brought along special gifts for the family in recognition of their kindness and dedication.
Ye Olde Chippy, established in 1984, has been a fixture of Southend seafront, offering top-quality fish and chips in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
