Waterfield House team complete 5k park run to celebrate 75 years of the NHS

The team at Waterfield House care home in Hadleigh, Ipswich, completed a 5k park run in Felixstowe to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NHS.

Running on Saturday the 8th of July, the park run was a free event in Felixstowe, open for anyone to register and complete by running, jogging or walking. It runs every Saturday at different locations across the UK.
The team participated in the fun run along the seafront, alongside members of the GP practise who frequently visit Waterfield House.

Care homes often call on emergency service personnel for support, which is invaluable and hugely appreciated. In celebration of the 75th anniversary, the care home team wanted to physically challenge themselves as a special token of thanks, for all their hard work and dedication.

Deputy Manager, Fiona Davies and Administrator, Mandy Gooding, said:
“Not only did we achieve our personal goals, but we also wanted to give our support towards our health centre whom we work closely with daily, building upon the already great rapport we have. Our services are working together to achieve the best for our residents, and we were very proud to support our NHS to celebrate the 75th anniversary.”

Runwood Homes’ are continually finding new ways to connect with their community, either by hosting events at the home, getting out in the town with Runwood Homes branded goodies, and playing an active part in community events and initiatives.
