Woodbury Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, helped make resident Eddie’s long-held wish come true after he wished to experience a ride in a sports car.
Eddie had added his wish to the Woodbury Court Wishing Tree, which gives residents the opportunity to share something they would love to experience. The team at Woodbury Court were keen to make Eddie’s wish happen and began looking at how they could arrange a special experience for him.
Sarah, Finance Administrator, helped make the surprise possible by arranging for her son to bring his sports car to Woodbury Court, especially for Eddie.
Eddie was delighted when he saw the car and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The opportunity gave him the chance to enjoy something he had always wanted to do and created a memorable moment for him, and everyone involved.
Eddie said the surprise “really made my day”, describing it as a lovely experience.
Mel, Manager at Woodbury Court, said: “We continue to go above and beyond to make our residents’ wishes come true. Every time a resident pledges a wish on our Wishing Tree, no matter how big or small, our staff strive to find a way to make that wish happen. Seeing the happiness it brings to our residents makes every effort worthwhile.”
The Wishing Tree is an important part of life at Woodbury Court, providing residents with an opportunity to share their wishes and giving staff the chance to create meaningful experiences that bring happiness and enjoyment.
For Eddie, the highlight was seeing the sports car arrive at Woodbury Court and being able to experience something he had always dreamed of.
