Bennett Lodge care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, is proud to have participated in Dunelm Lakeside’s Delivering Joy at Christmas campaign for the fourth consecutive year. This cherished initiative, held on the 5th of December, brought an abundance of festive cheer and heartfelt generosity to the home, making the holiday season truly magical for Bennett Lodge’s residents.
This year, the campaign was driven by a community voting system on Facebook. The competition featured a range of nominees, including care homes, schools, and animal shelters. Bennett Lodge Care Home was honoured to receive 77 votes, securing second place and a treasured spot in this heart-warming tradition.
Dunelm’s Delivering Joy at Christmas campaign centres around their in-store Christmas tree, adorned with tags representing the age, gender, and interests of recipients. Members of the community select a tag, purchase a thoughtful gift, and return it to the store. This year was the campaign’s most successful yet, with an unprecedented number of gifts collected.
On delivery day, Dunelm’s team brought a spectacular assortment of gifts to Bennett Lodge, ensuring that each resident would have a special surprise to open on Christmas morning.
Laura Smith, Home Manager at Bennett Lodge, expressed her gratitude, saying:
“We are so lucky to have a fantastic community link with Dunelm, who not only support us at Christmas but throughout the year with raffles and fetes. Our residents will be overwhelmed with the gifts on Christmas Day. We can’t thank Dunelm enough for the community spirit they have shown and the generosity of the general public.”
Bennett Lodge’s Resident Maureen also shared her thoughts:
