Residents of The Whitecroft Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group had a memorable day out to the Tiptree Jam Museum.
The trip was chosen following discussions at a residents’ meeting, where various options for outings were considered. The group showed particular enthusiasm for visiting the museum, known for its fascinating history and strong sense of nostalgia.
The visit offered residents the chance to reconnect with childhood memories and their attachment to history and art. Exploring the museum’s collection of old tools and equipment sparked lively conversations and reflections on the past, making the day both stimulating and enjoyable.
Following the museum tour, residents relaxed in the tea room and later explored the greenhouse-style secret garden, where they enjoyed the pleasant weather and a traditional Ploughman’s lunch. The combination of history, nature, and shared experiences created a warm and uplifting atmosphere for everyone involved.
Resident George Parker expressed the group’s enthusiasm for more cultural outings, noting how much everyone enjoyed the trip on their way back to the care home.
