Elizabeth House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, brought joy, music, and unforgettable memories to one of its residents this week as the team fulfilled a heartfelt wish as part of their ongoing “Make a Wish Come True” initiative.
Danielle, receptionist at Elizabeth House, shared that resident Alison described the experience as “one of the best days she has ever had” and expressed deep gratitude for the special celebration.
On, 2nd December 2025, Lifestyle Coordinators Karen and Jess transformed the home’s library into a personalised mini-concert venue dedicated to Alison’s favourite group, Bucks Fizz. Using a projector, they played a selection of the band’s iconic music videos, creating a lively and nostalgic atmosphere.
To make the experience even more magical, the team crafted a removable skirt for Alison so she could perform her favourite Bucks Fizz routine alongside Lifestyle Coordinator Karen, who also dressed up for the occasion. The coordinators went a step further by creating a personalised photo of Alison edited into the original band lineup, as well as gifting her a custom bottle of Bucks Fizz featuring her own image.
Carer Debbie was also involved in supporting the event.
“The moment we saw Alison’s face light up as she danced and sang along was truly heartwarming,” said Danielle. “Being able to fulfil someone’s wish not only creates special memories, but it brings a sense of joy, boosts wellbeing, and provides treasured one-to-one moments.”
The atmosphere throughout the event was described as full of joy, happiness, and excitement, with the standout moment being Alison’s radiant smile and clear delight.
This celebration is one of several resident wishes being brought to life by the dedicated Lifestyle team at Elizabeth House, demonstrating the home’s commitment to personalised care and enhancing residents’ everyday lives.
