Park View Residents Brave the Rain to Support the Poppy Appeal

Residents and staff from Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, supported the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, by collecting donations outside Tesco in Witham ahead of Remembrance Day.

Despite the pouring rain, Park View residents and staff proudly gave their time throughout the morning and afternoon to raise funds and awareness for the important cause, which supports serving and former members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families.

The visit marked another step in Park View’s ongoing commitment to the Poppy Appeal. The home began its volunteering journey last year with the support and guidance of Carl from the local Poppy Appeal team and has continued to collect donations throughout the year.

One of the most memorable aspects of the day was the enthusiasm shown by Park View residents, who were eager to get involved despite the challenging weather. Their determination to stand alongside staff and support the appeal was a heartwarming example of the community spirit at the heart of Park View.

The Park View team received lovely feedback from local supporters, with First Light Taxis Braintree commenting: “What a wonderful effort from everyone at Park View! Lovely to see our Witham community coming together to support such an important cause. Thank you for giving your time to honour those who served and sacrificed so much for us. Lest We Forget.”

Park View would like to thank everyone who stopped to make a donation, offered words of encouragement or supported the appeal, as well as Carl and the local Poppy Appeal team for their continued guidance.

The Park View Care Home is incredibly proud of its residents and staff for their dedication and generosity, proving that even the rain cannot dampen the spirit of giving back to the community.
