Windmill House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with Christmas cheer on 3 December 2025 as residents, staff, and families came together to celebrate Elf Day in support of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Lifestyle Coordinator at Windmill House, Steph, helped organise the festivities, creating a joyful and inclusive event for all. The day saw staff dressed as elves, residents enjoying hot chocolate and themed games, and a surprise visit from Santa himself, who took time to greet each resident with chocolates and warm wishes.
Santa shared his appreciation for the celebration, saying:
“Thanks for letting us join in on your Elf Day. It really was a pleasure to see all the hardworking staff and happy residents. It looks like you enjoyed the rest of your afternoon! A sincere thank you, Santa.”
Residents and guests were also treated to afternoon entertainment by The Jersey Boyz, whose singing brought festive energy to the home.
The event highlighted the importance of community and togetherness, while raising awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society.
“Celebrating Christmas as one big family and supporting such a meaningful cause makes days like ELF Day truly special,” Steph said.
With laughter, music, colourful costumes, and plenty of Christmas magic, the atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of joy. The standout moment of the day was undoubtedly the surprise arrival of Santa, bringing smiles, wonder, and festive spirit to all at Windmill House.
