Residents from Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a delightful day out on 19 January 2026 with a bus trip to Summerhill Garden Nursery, combining shopping, nature, laughter, and a much-loved lunch at L’Oliveta Restaurant.
The trip was led by the Lifestyle Team and provided residents with the opportunity to reconnect with a familiar and well-loved community location. Throughout the day, residents explored the nursery sales, browsed ornaments, admired seasonal plants and flowers, and enjoyed fresh air while watching ducks on the pond. There was plenty of fun and laughter, particularly while trying on some “silly hats,” which quickly became a highlight of the visit.
Louise, Lifestyle Lead at Rosedale Court, said:
“Our residents really value feeling part of the community and revisiting places they have enjoyed in the past. Trips like this support wellbeing, social connection, and joy. We also have a wonderful relationship with the team at L’Oliveta Restaurant, who always make us feel so welcome.”
Residents shared overwhelmingly positive feedback from the day. Patricia said, “What a lovely day it has been,” while Pat added, “We have laughed all day.” Gill commented, “The fish and chips were amazing, and it’s so lovely here.”
Cliff expressed his appreciation, saying, “Thank you for asking me to come on the trip with the ladies, it’s been lovely.” For Sylvia , the outing was particularly special as her first trip: “It’s been lovely to meet new people on my first trip. I love flowers and really enjoyed my coronation chicken jacket potato.”
Staff at L’Oliveta Restaurant, located within Summerhill Nursery, also shared their delight at the visit, saying:
“Lovely to see you all again. We enjoy it when you visit — always full of smiles.”
A standout moment for many was enjoying the popular coronation chicken jacket potatoes, as well as spending time watching the ducks on the pond. The warm atmosphere, fresh air, and shared laughter made the trip a memorable experience for everyone involved.
The visit is part of Rosedale Court’s regular seasonal outings to Summerhill Garden Nursery, reinforcing strong community connections and providing residents with meaningful, enjoyable experiences throughout the year.
