Runwood Homes Senior Living, proud Lead Sponsor of Team Seas Life, is delighted to announce the successful completion of one of the world’s most demanding endurance challenges, the World’s Toughest Row.

The four-man team has officially arrived in Antigua, completing their epic 3,000-mile Atlantic crossing from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to the Caribbean in an incredible 38 days and 4 hours, a remarkable achievement of human endurance, teamwork, and determination.

Rowing in relentless two-hour shifts, day and night, across open ocean, Team Seas Life pushed through extreme physical exhaustion, unpredictable weather conditions, and the mental challenge of life at sea to complete one of the toughest rowing challenges on the planet, all for a good cause.

As Lead Sponsor, Runwood Homes Senior Living proudly supported Team Seas Life throughout this extraordinary journey, standing behind both the physical challenge and the powerful charitable mission driving it.

The expedition has been raising vital funds and awareness for several life-changing charities, including:

  • The Matt Hampson Foundation who helps fund rehabilitation services for young people and adults living with life-changing injuries
  • The ClockTower Foundation helping to advance the health and human performance of serving personnel
  • My Name’5 Doddie Foundation who invest in MND research

A major focus of the challenge has been supporting Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research and care, making the mission especially meaningful for all involved.

A Journey of Purpose, Courage and Impact

Team Seas Life, Julian Evans, Global Head of Healthcare at Knight Frank,  Stuart Kershaw, Tom Clowes and Ollie Phillips, undertook the challenge not only as an endurance expedition, but as a mission to change lives, raise awareness, and fund vital research and support services.

A spokesperson for Runwood Homes commented:

“We are immensely proud to have been Lead Sponsor of Team Seas Life. Their achievement is nothing short of extraordinary. Completing this crossing in 38 days and 4 hours is a testament to their resilience, teamwork, and determination. At Runwood Homes, we believe in supporting causes that change lives, and this journey embodies everything we stand for — courage, compassion, community and care.”

National Support and Collaboration

The mission has been supported by many of the UK’s leading healthcare and education organisations, united by a shared goal to support these incredible charities. So far, the team have raised an amazing £400,000.

Runwood Homes proudly congratulates Team Seas Life on their historic achievement and remains committed to supporting initiatives that drive hope, research, and positive change for families and communities affected by life-limiting conditions.image00006 image00001
