Leawood Manor Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with music, culture and community spirit as residents and staff came together to celebrate Burns Night, the annual Scottish tradition commemorating the life, legacy and poetry of Robert Burns.
The celebration took place on 25 January 2026, bringing residents and staff together for a special Burns Night supper that honoured Scottish heritage and tradition. The evening included the sound of Scottish pipe music, a traditional serving of haggis, neeps and tatties, and a heartfelt moment as resident Eleanor proudly addressed the haggis and said the traditional Burns Night grace.
The celebration concluded with everyone joining together to sing “Auld Lang Syne”, creating a warm, emotional and memorable end to a meaningful evening of togetherness.
Commenting on the event, Sue, Lifestyle Coordinator at Leawood Manor, said:
“What a fantastic Burns night as we came together to celebrate in true style
A huge thank you to Eleanor for sharing her heritage and culture with us, to Gary and his team for the delicious food and to all our wonderful staff for making the evening such an enjoyable and memorable evening.”
The event highlights Leawood Manor’s commitment to celebrating diversity, heritage and culture, while creating meaningful shared experiences that strengthen community bonds and promote wellbeing.
