Residents at Rose House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, have embarked on an exciting culinary journey around the world, beginning with a vibrant Italian-themed event held on 9 February 2026.
The special day marked the launch of the home’s brand-new Food Passport initiative, a creative programme designed to encourage participation, spark conversation and bring a sense of adventure to everyday life. Through themed dining and cultural events, residents can “travel” the world from the comfort of home, collecting passport stamps at each destination.
Rose House was transformed into a celebration of la dolce vita, complete with colourful decorations, traditional Italian music and an authentic Italian-inspired menu prepared by Chef Jake and Kitchen Assistant Chris.
Residents proudly received their very first Food Passport stamp during the celebration, marking the beginning of what promises to be an exciting global adventure.
The atmosphere throughout the day was warm, lively and full of excitement. Laughter and conversation filled the room as residents shared memories of past travels, chatted about the delicious food and embraced the holiday spirit. Italian music created a relaxed ambience, while the décor added a touch of fun.
A standout highlight of the day was Sharon’s playful pizza hat, which quickly became the star attraction. Residents eagerly took turns wearing it, prompting plenty of laughter, photo opportunities and joyful moments that added to the celebratory atmosphere.
