The team and residents at Bracebridge Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, care home in Atherstone brought the vibrant colours, sounds, and flavours of the globe directly to their garden courtyard this week, hosting a spectacular multicultural celebration.

The event was held in alignment with the Runwood Homes Group’s May 2026 Dignity & Wellbeing theme, “Window to the World,” which encourages homes to explore, experience, and celebrate diverse cultures, countries, and backgrounds from the comfort of their care environments.

The afternoon was a true team effort, with both the Home Manager and Deputy Manager fully engaged and dressed to impress alongside their team, trading everyday uniforms for stunning traditional attire. Throughout the fantastic afternoon, team members shared personal stories about their own heritage and backgrounds, creating deep connections and wonderful conversations with the residents in the sunny courtyard.

The absolute highlight of the atmosphere was a brilliant Bhangra dancing presentation, performed entirely by the talented staff themselves to the absolute joy and delight of the residents, who enthusiastically clapped along. Adding to the sensory experience was a curated “food from around the world” tasting menu, allowing everyone to sample an array of international flavours and traditional dishes—a highlight that was universally enjoyed by all in attendance.

Speaking about the success of the afternoon, the management team at Bracebridge Court noted how powerful the event was for boosting morale and bringing everyone together:

“It was an absolutely fantastic afternoon. Seeing the staff engage so fully, dress up, and share their cultures with such pride was wonderful. Our residents loved tasting the different foods and watching the staff perform the Bhangra dancing out in the courtyard. It truly opened a ‘window to the world’ for all of us and highlighted the rich, diverse community we are so proud to have here at Bracebridge Court.”

The event beautifully captured the core message of the Dignity & Wellbeing initiative, proving that celebrating different cultures and backgrounds not only educates but creates moments of shared joy and connection.
