Residents, staff, and families at Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together on 26 May 2026 for a joyful summer BBQ celebration to mark the Spring Bank Holiday, creating a day filled with laughter, music, and community spirit.
The event was organised following a suggestion made by one of the residents during a recent residents’ meeting. The idea was warmly welcomed as a wonderful opportunity to bring everyone together and celebrate as one community.
Held in the home’s garden, residents enjoyed an afternoon of live entertainment, dancing, and singing in the sunshine. Guests were treated to a fantastic BBQ featuring hotdogs and burgers, alongside strawberries and cream, with refreshments flowing throughout the day.
The celebration was made even more special by a visit from the town’s Mayor, giving residents the opportunity to meet and chat with an important local figure. One of the standout moments of the day was seeing residents meet the Mayor, as well as introducing Home Manager Alex and her husband to everyone attending.
Commenting on the event, Diane, Lifestyle Co-ordinator at Park View, said:
“What a fantastic day was had by all. It was so lovely to meet the town’s Mayor and see everyone enjoying themselves together. The atmosphere was amazing, with everyone dancing, singing, and making wonderful memories.”
The event highlighted the importance of creating meaningful social opportunities for residents and families, helping to strengthen connections and celebrate special occasions together.
