Staff and residents at Lower Meadow Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently came together to celebrate a special event titled United by Food.
Staff were invited to cook a traditional dish from their home countries and wear their national dress, creating a vibrant celebration of culture. Residents gathered to learn more about the different countries represented within the home and enjoyed the opportunity to sample a variety of home-cooked dishes.
Residents shared how much they enjoyed seeing staff in their traditional attire and experiencing authentic dishes prepared by staff, describing the event as wonderful and memorable.
The idea for United by Food was developed as part of the home’s wellbeing programme of monthly events, designed to promote inclusion, cultural awareness, and community engagement within the home.
