Residents at Chelmunds Court care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, were treated to a wild experience when local animal company Scales n Tails paid a special visit.
From snakes and ferrets to tortoises and many more creatures, residents had the opportunity to get up close, learn about the animals and, for the brave, even hold some of them.
One of the most memorable moments came as the animals first entered the room. Residents’ faces immediately lit up as they eagerly waited to meet their new furry, scaly and shelled friends.
One resident described the experience, saying that having the animals visit gave them “a lovely feeling in their heart.”
The team at Chelmunds Court regularly looks for opportunities to incorporate animals into residents’ activities, knowing just how much joy and comfort they can bring.
