Jubilee Court Residents Take on Sponsored Wheelchair Push for District Nurse

Residents at Jubilee Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, took on a special sponsored wheelchair push from Jubilee Court to Bulwell and back, raising money to support Laura, one of the District Nurses who has supported the home, and her family. The funds will help Laura create precious memories with her children and support her family through the challenges ahead.

The idea was suggested by Jubilee Court residents after the team were informed that Laura is living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). As Laura is a valued member of the Jubilee Court community, residents wanted to show their support for her and her family. Laura’s son, Alex, is blind and has complex needs and relies heavily on Laura’s voice for comfort and communication, making the support from the Jubilee Court community particularly meaningful.

The Jubilee Court residents decided they wanted to do something lovely to show their support for Laura and her family, choosing to take on the sponsored wheelchair push and encourage others to sponsor their efforts.

Events like the wheelchair push at Jubilee Court are so important, as they give residents the opportunity to show their support for Laura and her family while making a meaningful contribution to a cause that is close to their hearts. Throughout the journey, residents supported and encouraged one another, with plenty of smiles and laughter along the way.

A highlight of the day was seeing the residents wave and cheer each other on as they made their way to Bulwell and back to Jubilee Court. Their enthusiasm and determination helped make the fundraiser a memorable experience for everyone involved.

The residents and team at Jubilee Court would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who sponsored the wheelchair push and supported their efforts to raise money for Laura and her family.
