Leawood Manor Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, celebrated Care Home Open Week from 15th to 19th June 2026, welcoming residents, staff, families, and members of the wider community to a programme of events showcasing life within the home.
The week began on 15th June with a “Meet the Manager” event, where visitors met Care Home Manager Hira and explored life at Leawood Manor. Guests had the opportunity to tour the home, meet residents and staff, and gain insight into the high-quality, person-centred care provided in a warm and welcoming environment.
On 16th June, residents and guests enjoyed a lively Pride Month celebration filled with music and togetherness. A fantastic live performance from Russell Weaver encouraged everyone to sing along and celebrate diversity, inclusion, and community spirit.
On 17th June, the home welcomed Debutots for an intergenerational “Joining Generations with Imagination” session. Residents enjoyed storytelling, creative activities, and sharing experiences with visitors, helping to spark imagination and connection across generations.
On 18th and 19th June, residents enjoyed a France-themed experience, featuring themed decorations, food, and conversation inspired by travel and memories. The following morning, a relaxed coffee morning brought the celebrations to a close.
Sue Beckhet, Lifestyle Coordinator at Leawood Manor Care Home, said:
“It was a fantastic week that truly showcased our community spirit and brought residents, families, and visitors together.”
