Alexandra House care home in Harlow, marked a significant milestone with a grand celebration of its 15th anniversary on the 16th and 17th of February 2024. The highlight of the celebrations included an awards ceremony, a residents’ party, and a gala night that brought together residents, staff, professionals, families, and friends of the home.
The celebration kicked off on Friday, 16th February, with an awards ceremony honouring the commitment of the home’s longest-standing residents. Faith, Ada, Avril, Joan, and Terence were recognised for their loyalty to Alexandra House.
Acknowledging the strength of the organisation, the home presented service awards to staff members who dedicated 10 to 15 years to Alexandra House. Dawn, Susan, Sharon, Aurelia, Neringa, Jade, Davies, and Judith were honoured for their remarkable service and dedication.
To appreciate the collaborative efforts of professionals supporting the home, Alexandra House awarded individuals and organisations for their exceptional service. Among those recognised were social workers from Social Services, medical professionals from Addison House Surgery, an impartial assessor, educators from Harlow College, representatives from Daniel Robinsons, healthcare practitioners, and various teams instrumental in the residents’ care.
Mirela Taban, the Home Manager, expressed her gratitude and excitement for the remarkable journey Alexandra House has undertaken over the past 15 years. She emphasized the Home’s transformation into not just a care facility but a vibrant community where residents thrive and enjoy life to the fullest.
Mirela highlighted the importance of collaboration and teamwork within the organisation and extended heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. She also recounted the delightful celebration for residents the previous day, where they enjoyed entertainment, delectable food, and a red-carpet experience.
Ruth, a Social Worker, shared her appreciation for the event and commended the delicious food, describing it as “absolutely fantastic and amazing.” She expressed gratitude for the acknowledgment of her work, emphasizing how deeply it was appreciated.
