A resident of Brewster House, part of the Runwood Homes group, had a special wish come true when Owen, a Shetland Pony, visited the home.
Lifestyle Coordinator Leoni contacted pony owner Britt, after Brewster House resident Patricia shared that she wished to see a horse. Patricia had spent much of her life around horses, making the opportunity especially meaningful to her.
Britt and Caroline brought Owen to the home, creating a surprise for residents and staff. His arrival brought smiles, conversations and a strong sense of excitement as residents gathered to meet him.
Patricia said: “It is so wonderful to see a horse again after being around them my whole life. Thank you for making my wish come true.”
Resident of Brewster House, Hazel, also shared her happiness, saying: “This has really made my day. I feel so happy.”
Patricia also shared stories from her life with horses, encouraging residents to talk about their own memories and experiences. The morning created opportunities for residents to connect through shared conversations and memories.
