Residents at Heron Court enjoyed a wonderful garden picnic on 19 June, bringing the feeling of a traditional day out in the park into their own community.
The event was inspired by Carly, the Home Manager, and organised with the support of Lifestyle Coordinator Ariel Da Costa and the wider team. The garden was transformed with tablecloths, parasols, music, and outdoor activities to create a festive picnic atmosphere.
Residents enjoyed a selection of picnic favourites, including cold pasta, salads, samosas, sandwiches, and desserts such as chocolate and caramel mousse, along with fresh fruit. Staff dressed for the occasion, adding to the fun and welcoming environment.
Ariel Da Costa, Lifestyle Coordinator, highlighted the teamwork involved in creating the event, with support from the kitchen team, care staff, management, family members, and Alketa, who kindly helped on her day off.
Resident BT shared: “It reminds me of when we used to go to Epping Forest with friends and family members.”
The picnic gave residents the chance to enjoy the sunshine, socialise, and reminisce about happy memories, creating a joyful and memorable day for everyone involved.
