Residents and staff at the Lower Meadow care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, held a special Dolly Day to celebrate the life and music of the much-loved Dolly Parton.
Lower Meadow was transformed for the occasion, with residents and staff dressing up, enjoying Dolly Parton’s music and taking part in a lively singalong. The celebration gave Lower Meadow residents the opportunity to enjoy some of Dolly’s best-loved songs while reflecting on the lasting impact she has had on so many people.
The idea for Dolly Day came from Home Manager, Rachel, who wanted to create a meaningful celebration to appreciate Dolly Parton and recognise her contribution to music and popular culture.
Residents at Lower Meadow described the event as a lovely and respectful celebration of the life of such an extraordinary woman, while families also praised the idea and enjoyed seeing the home mark the occasion.
One of the highlights of the day was line dancing, with Lower Meadow residents getting involved and enjoying the opportunity to dance along to Dolly’s music.
