Residents from the Sunflower Unit at Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a heartwarming day trip to Clacton-on-Sea on 12 May 2026, creating special moments filled with laughter, friendship and seaside nostalgia.
The trip was organised by Lifestyle Coordinator Diane and Loren after residents expressed during a unit meeting that they would love to visit the seaside, enjoy the fresh sea air and share a traditional fish and chips experience together.
Residents travelled by minibus to the popular coastal town where they enjoyed a relaxing walk along the beach, taking in the sea views and reminiscing about holidays and memories from years gone by. The group later stopped for coffee and conversation before enjoying lunch together at a local restaurant.
A highlight of the day was the sense of happiness and togetherness shared by everyone involved, with staff thanking minibus driver Gus for helping make the outing such a wonderful success.
