Residents Enjoy Dementia Choir Trip

Residents from Loganberry Lodge, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a day out at the Dementia Choir event held at the Empire Theatre in Halstead.

A group of six residents, many of whom are members of the home’s own choir, travelled to attend the popular singing session. Together with other attendees from the community, they sang along to a variety of well-loved songs.

The visit marked the group’s second trip to the Dementia Choir following the success of their first experience. Residents had thoroughly enjoyed the previous event, and volunteers were delighted to welcome them back and expressed how much they hoped the group would return in the future.

The outing highlighted the importance of maintaining strong community connections and providing meaningful opportunities. Music has a unique ability to bring people together, promoting wellbeing, encouraging social interaction and creating lasting memories.

One resident, Margaret, summed up the experience perfectly, saying: “That was really good, I hope I can come again another time.”

The event was filled with singing and smiles. Residents returned home with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to their next visit.
