Residents and staff at Bennett Lodge care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, came together to mark the NHS’s birthday with a celebration dedicated to the district nurses who provide care and support to the home.
To show their appreciation, residents invited district nurses to stop by for a complimentary tea or coffee and a slice of cake.
The event was organised following a residents’ meeting, where everyone discussed how they would like to celebrate the NHS’s birthday. After sharing ideas, the residents voted to thank their district nurses with a tea, coffee and cake afternoon as a small gesture of appreciation for everything they do.
The district nurses described the gesture as “a lovely thing to do” and said it was “a good thank you for appreciating us.’
The event reflected the strong relationships among Bennett Lodge residents, staff and healthcare professionals, while recognising the dedication of district nurses every day.
