Lower Meadow Celebrates Annual Easter Events with the Community

Lower Meadow Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently hosted two wonderful events, bringing together local schools and the community for a fun-filled Easter celebration.

On Thursday 10th April 2025, Lower Meadow held their much-anticipated Easter egg colouring competition and Easter egg hunt, and the turnout was fantastic!

For their colouring competition, Lower Meadow sent blank colouring pages to Bishopton Primary and Welcombe Hills SEN School, encouraging students to fill them with their own creative designs. The best five pictures were awarded large Easter eggs as prizes. This year, over one hundred entries were received, which is the most they have ever had! The judging panel was made up of residents and staff, and they had a tough decision to pick the winners.

The annual Easter Egg also made a comeback, with participants roaming the grounds of Lower Meadow in search of coloured eggs, which could then be exchanged for delicious chocolate eggs. It was a magical experience for all ages, filled with laughter and excitement.

This event serves as a vital link between Lower Meadow and the local community. By engaging with schools and hosting activities that involve residents, they strengthen connections that are truly enriching for everyone involved. Studies have shown that interactions between residents and children promote happiness, reduce feelings of isolation, and improve the overall well-being of everyone.

Lower Meadow has run this event for the past two years, and each year it grows bigger and better, and the support from the community keeps it vibrant and fun. The day was filled with jokes, laughter, and a lot of excitement, and we look forward to continuing this tradition in the future. Sally Hall, a community member, shared her appreciation for the event, commenting “Thank you very much for running this again this year. My children enjoyed it so much.”
