Brewster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, proudly hosted a heartfelt Macmillan Coffee Morning, bringing together residents, families, staff, and the wider community to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Organised in response to a nationwide initiative that has taken place across the Runwood Homes Group, the event saw guests enjoy delicious cakes, warm drinks, and plenty of conversation, all for an incredibly worthy cause. A highlight of the morning was a raffle for a sweet treat hamper, which was won by lucky staff member, Sue.
Lifestyle Coordinator Leoni commented on the significance of the event:
“It is such a good cause to support, we all know someone who has or has had cancer. Macmillan do a wonderful job, and we were proud to play our part.”
Residents also felt the spirit of the day. Resident Edna shared her thoughts:
“It’s wonderful to take part and see so many people join in.”
One touching moment was the reunion of a resident with long-time friends from a neighbouring care home, who visited especially for the occasion. The joy on their faces as they caught up after so long was a beautiful reminder of the power of connection.
The atmosphere throughout was cheerful and uplifting, with smiles, stories, and support shared across generations.
While the morning was filled with fun and laughter, the purpose to support Macmillan Cancer Support in their ongoing mission to provide support to people affected by cancer remained clear.
