Rose House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, marked International Men’s Day on 19 November 2025, honouring the men in the community with a warm, social celebration that recognised their resilience, dignity, and invaluable contributions to daily life at the home.
“International Men’s Day reminds us that everyone deserves recognition, support, and a sense of belonging,” said Louise, Lifestyle Coordinator at Rose House. “These small, joyful moments truly matter, and celebrating with a drink, a game, and good company reminds us how important connection and belonging are for mental and emotional well-being.”
Residents enjoyed a relaxed afternoon complete with a glass of Guinness, followed by lively games of cards and dominoes. Laughter, friendly competition, and conversation filled the room as residents, staff, and several family members came together to share in the occasion.
The celebration was supported by staff members, residents and relatives.
The idea behind the event stemmed from the broader purpose of International Men’s Day: to highlight positive male role models, promote health and well-being, and strengthen social connections, elements that Rose House prioritises every day. The relaxed atmosphere provided the perfect setting to ensure residents felt appreciated and part of something meaningful.
One standout moment was seeing a resident who usually chooses the quiet of his own room happily engaging in the social activities, a heartwarming reminder of the power of inclusion and companionship.
Rose House remains committed to creating uplifting experiences that foster community, well-being, and a sense of home for all who live here.
