Residents from Ivy Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, embraced the festive season with a joyful bus trip to Brigg Garden Centre on Friday 5th December, organised to help spark the magic of Christmas and bring residents together for a day of fun and community.
Sophie, Lifestyle Coordinator at Ivy Court, shared how uplifting the outing was:
“All of our residents thoroughly enjoyed the trip; all commented on how festive it made them feel.”
The day began with a scenic bus journey before residents and staff explored the beautifully decorated garden centre. They visited various shops, enjoyed a warm lunch in the café, and ended the trip with plenty of laughter thanks to the popular singing reindeer display, which delighted everyone on the way back to the bus.

Sophie explained that she chose Brigg Garden Centre to kick-start December’s festivities, giving residents the chance to get out into the community, enjoy one another’s company, and soak up the seasonal atmosphere.
The mood throughout the day was described as vibrant and joyful, with residents laughing, smiling, singing and even dancing as they embraced the festive spirit.
A standout highlight of the day was the singing and dancing reindeer display, which left everyone in high spirits and provided the perfect end to a memorable Christmas outing.
