Lancaster Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, welcomed residents, staff, and visitors to a unique Romanian Immersive Cultural Day and Open Day on 26 March 2026, offering an engaging journey through Romanian culture.
The event transformed the home into a lively cultural hub. Guests enjoyed Romanian music, a tour, authentic food tasting, an audience session with Barbara, and a fun-filled bingo activity.
Residents responded enthusiastically to the day’s activities, particularly the authentic cuisine. Many praised the rich flavours and variety, with several asking for second helpings and commenting on how different and enjoyable the dishes were compared to their usual meals. Staff and visitors also shared their excitement, noting how much they looked forward to the next cultural destination.
The atmosphere throughout the day was described as being “like a holiday,” filled with music, singing, dancing, and strong resident engagement. The combination of aromas, flavours, sounds, and visual elements created a fully immersive experience that encouraged participation—even among those who typically prefer quieter, independent activities.
