At Evelyn May House, part of the Runwood Homes Group,, small acts of kindness and teamwork make a big difference every day. Resident Dee has become a valued helping hand in the office, bringing positivity, laughter, and support to both staff and fellow residents.
Kerry, Lifestyle Coordinator at Evelyn May House, shared how Dee regularly visits the office to offer her help and spend time with Administrator Nicki.
“Dee is such a big help and she always says it puts a smile on her face when she has helped out,” said Kerry. “She always enjoys finishing off with a cup of tea and a piece of cake.”
Dee’s daily visits often involve practical tasks such as counting review cards and organising them into neat piles of ten. She also assists by reading out food order product codes to support the administration team. Even when it’s simply sharing a cup of tea and a chat with Nicki, Dee’s presence is always appreciated.
Dee said: “I love helping out and it’s always nice to go into the office and have a chat with the administrator. We have such a laugh.”
At Evelyn May House, encouraging residents to stay engaged and involved helps create a strong sense of purpose and community. Dee’s enthusiasm and willingness to help is a wonderful example of how everyday moments can make a lasting impact.
