Long-Serving Team Member Retires After 32 Years at Evelyn May House

Staff and residents at Evelyn May House Care Home came together on 27 July to celebrate the retirement of long-serving domestic Lesley, who is retiring after an incredible 32 years of service.

A surprise retirement party was held in her honour, attended by Home Manager Jo Robbin-Coker, Deputy Manager Bino, Administrator Nicki and members of the care team, with some colleagues even coming in on their day off to celebrate. Lesley also presented the home with an Evelyn May rose to mark the occasion.

Reflecting on her time at the home, Lesley said: “I stayed so long because there was never a point where I wanted to go anywhere else. I was always happy here, and I still am.”

Isabel, Lifestyle Coordinator, said: “It was wonderful to celebrate Lesley’s amazing 32 years with us. She has made such a positive impact on everyone at Evelyn May House, and we wish her a very happy retirement.”

The celebration was a heartfelt thank you to Lesley for her dedication, with an emotional speech from the management team highlighting just how much she will be missed.
